General Questions

At Pawspital Animal Hospital, we treat dogs and cats. 

At Pawspital Animal Hospital, suggests yearly examinations for the majority of pets, with more frequent visits—at least every six months—for elderly pets. Annual exams consist of physical examinations by our veterinarians, as well as different blood testing, annual or booster immunizations, and parasite screening and prevention.

During the first year of their lives, we must see puppies and kittens more frequently. To assist us identify illnesses and problems before they become a problem, we advise examinations and blood tests every six months for pets older than seven.

We offer a wide range of services from general wellness, surgical procedures, dentistry, senior care, euthanasia, urgent care, and more. We are here for your pet at every stage of life, and if a referral to an outside provider is necessary we will point you in the right direction. 

Pets, especially cats, can conceal their misery from us and are unable to express their emotions to us. Anger, improper urination, tiredness, activity level, vocalization (barking/meowing), and changes in hunger are examples of behavioral or health changes. Make an examination appointment as soon as possible by contacting our clinic.

Payment is due at the time services are rendered. We accept all major credit cards, cash, and CareCredit.

Whether the surgery is simple or extensive, our veterinarians take every safety measure to ensure your pet recovers quickly. We provide all surgery patients 24-hour care and surveillance during business hours to guarantee your pet’s safety. All of our surgical procedures on pets are done under anesthesia, and we support the use of pre-anesthetic blood tests to identify any underlying conditions that can influence how the pet reacts to anesthesia.

We use pain management techniques prior to, during, and following surgery, ensuring your pet’s comfort and safety all the way through to full recovery. This include keeping an eye on your pet’s vital signs, evaluating them for signs of suffering, and providing them with a healthy diet, a warm environment, and comfort.

We will review your pet’s vaccination history during your visit. If they are due for any vaccines, we will discuss them and help you schedule the necessary shots.

First Visit Questions

Please bring any medical records (or contact information for your prior veterinarian), a list of medications your pet is currently taking, and any questions or concerns you may have. 

Transferring your dog or cat’s medical paperwork from a prior provider is very easy.  You can:

1. Reach out to your previous veterinary clinic and request your pet’s medical records. You can usually do this via phone or email. Have the records emailed to us at [email protected] or request to have them printed and bring them in with you.

2. Simply give us a call or email with your previous veterinarian’s contact information and we will reach out on your behalf. Your previous provider may require that you complete a release form which authorizes them to share your pet’s information with us.
